Vonda Easley

The youngest of four children, Vonda was exposed to the traditional sounds of Southern Gospel Music at an early age. Her parents often took her to gospel singings and these concerts left a mark on the young girl and she “just knew” that one day she would be involved in a music ministry in some way. Little did she know that she would be the owner.

In 1988, she had her first child, Lauren Ashley. When she went to the doctor for her post pregnancy visit, she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and during that trial, God began to deal with Vonda about the call he had placed on her life since the young age of 12 after she was saved at a Revival at her home church, Liberty Hill Congregational Methodist.

Ashley, at four years old, was already singing “specials” at church on Sunday. Later, Mom joined in and the family harmony was unbeatable. While working at a dentist office, Vonda went to school at The University of Alabama in Birmingham and got a degree in Dental Hygiene, something that she had always wanted to do. But, it wasn’t until 2005 that the door opened for the two of them to begin their traveling music ministry. After their first concert, the phone began to ring and the book started filling up from there. God was truly blessing!

September 11, 2007, at National Quartet Convention, Ashley met Josh Franks, soloist and evangelist. It was love at first sight.  December 8th, 2007, the two of them were married.  They now have an awesome duet ministry that God put together!

Vonda resides in Heflin, Alabama with husband, David and son, Brad. They are members of Heflin Baptist Church.  David is the assistant principal at Cleburne County Middle School and Brad will be a senior in high school next year. Brad plans to pursue his calling to be a youth minister after high school. He would also like to coach high school football.

Hope’s Journey Quartet, as it is today, is still going strong. They have been nominated for "Regional Group of the Year" at The Southern Gospel.com  and have had songs charted in Gospel Music News and Power Sourse Magazine. They sang over 200 dates last year. Vonda, still cancer free, gives all the credit to the Lord. “I am so thankful for this calling and for my healing”, states Vonda. Our God is an awesome God.

Trent Adams

Trent Adams was born on September 17th, 1990. Trent was a typical young boy who loved football, racing, and baseball  like all other little boys until he began to watch Gaither Videos at his grandparent’s house. There he would listen to the bass singers. They were his “favorite”.

Pretty soon, instead of buying a toy at “Wal-Mart” on the weekend, He begged for videos of the Southern Gospel Greats. He loved, J.D. Sumner, Rex Nelon, George Younce, and the list goes on.

As a young boy, Trent would practice singing bass and was so amazed the first time his low note was there. He ran and told his granddaddy, Willoughby Gaither to come listen.

At 15 yrs old, God opened a door for him to become part of Hope’s Journey. Trent was a high school athlete and he gave that up to sing for Jesus. He was nominated at the young age of 15 for young excelling artist of the year at The Southern Gospel.com.

Trent gives all the glory for his low bass voice to the Lord!  He is the reason I sing, states Trent.

Jennifer Mullinax

Jennifer Mullinax was born on March 8th, 1990 to Jim and Susie Mullinax (and older brother Barry) of the Mullinax Family. Her parents, having been told they would never be able to have children, were thrilled to welcome their second child and knew God would have a special plan for both of their lives.

Jennifer sang from the time she could make a sound and by the age of three, was singing "specials" with her parents in church, harmony and all. On a Sunday evening in 1997 at Morning View Baptist Church in Marietta, GA, Jen accepted Christ as her personal Savior.

At the age of thirteen, Jen stepped in as soprano for The Mullinax Family, as her aunt and uncle stepped down. When she was sixteen, Jen went to a singing with her parents to hear a group called Hope's Journey. Before the service was over, the Mullinax Family sang a few and the two groups met and became friends. "It was like we had known each other our whole lives," recalls Jen.

One day, Vonda called Jen to inquire about filling in for their soprano at that time. Jen said yes, and began practicing and singing with Hope's Journey on a fill-in basis. Then the Lord began dealing with Jen about joining Hope's Journey full time. After much prayer, Jen joined the group. Jen states, "My parents couldn't be more supportive. They're amazing and I thank God every day that He blessed me with such Godly influences. I have always felt that God has called me to sing for Him and to spread the good news of His salvation. When He saved me, this is the work He gave me to do and I am honored that He has allowed me to do so with Hope's Journey.
Jen , a recent graduate from Hiram High School also works in bookstore distribution for Resting Place Music.
